‘Jumanji 3’ To Release On Christmas Day 2026

The Hollywood Reporter states that the reboot to the iconic film centered around a board game, Jumanji 3, will be released on Christmas Day. The film was originally going to premiere on December 11, pushing the film back two weeks. 

The film was first a children’s book written by Chris Van Allsburg in 1981. An adaptation with Robin Williams (Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting), Kristen Dunst (The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette), Bradley Pierce (Beauty and the Beast, Ride with the Wind) and Bonnie Hunt (Cheaper by the Dozen, Beethoven) released in 1995. 

Reboot Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle premiered on December 20, 2017. The box office reached more than $950 million worldwide. Jumanji: The Next Level came out December 13, 2019 and received $801 million dollars from global sales in its box office. 

The original cast for the two modern remakes includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Moana, The Game Plan), Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda, School of Rock), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Life of Chuck), Kevin Hart (Ride Along, The Secret Life of Pets), Bebe Neuwirth (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Madam Secretary), Danny DeVito (Matilda, The Lorax), Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Saturday Night), Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Rhys Darby (Our Flag Means Death, Yes Man) and Nick Jonas (Camp Rock, Hannah Montana). Recently casted for the third installment is Jack Jewkes (Criminal Minds) and Dan Hildebrand (Game of Thrones, My Girl 2). 

Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Red One) is the director, co-writer and filmmaker. Other writers of the screenplay include Scott Rosenberg (Beautiful Girls, Zoo) and Jeff Pinkner (The 5th Wave, The Amazing Spider-Man 2). The producers are Kasdan, Johnson, Dany Garcia (Moana, Skyscraper), Hiram Garcia (Jungle Cruise, Black Adam) and Matt Tolmach (Venom, Morbius).
