Actor Jude Law will headline an upcoming, untitled action-thriller feature centered on a getaway driver. The project was officially announced by co-founder Ben Jackson and Head of Film and TV Katie Sinclair of Riff Raff Entertainment, the boutique production banner established by Law and Jackson in 2017, during a keynote production panel at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
The screenplay is written by Oscar nominee Zach Baylin and Kate Susman. The writing duo previously collaborated with Law and Riff Raff Entertainment on the crime drama The Order and the Netflix thriller miniseries Black Rabbit. The narrative core follows a driver navigating a sequence of high-stakes logistical obstacles while attempting to transport assets across specific locations.
According to Jackson, the creative concept originated directly from Law’s experiences filming practical vehicular stunt sequences for The Order. The positive experience prompted the creative team to brainstorm a character-focused action film designed for a theatrical release rather than a straight-to-streaming distribution pipeline.
Sinclair emphasized that while the project marks a significant transition toward a larger production scale for Riff Raff Entertainment, the story remains structurally anchored by a character-driven narrative framework rather than conventional, spectacle-heavy action tropes. She noted that the role offers an opportunity to showcase Law’s performance range, given that the actor has not previously anchored a traditional action feature of this nature.
Riff Raff Entertainment currently oversees a slate of approximately 50 projects at various points of development, split evenly between 15 fully fledged feature films and 15 television properties out to prospective financiers. Alongside the newly announced thriller, the company is developing a separate television series with Baylin and Susman, as well as a UK-Portuguese co-production with filmmaker Laura Carreira following her debut feature, On Falling.
The getaway thriller remains in early development, and the production banner has not yet attached a director, finalized supporting cast members, or established a principal photography schedule.
