Academy Award nominee Jude Law is in talks to play Captain Hook in the live-action Peter Pan remake, Peter Pan & Wendy according to Variety. The new live-action remake is an update of the classic 1953 Disney cartoon.
Peter Pan & Wendy is not the first live-action remake attempt that Disney has made, but this version will stay close to the original cartoon rather than try to give it a modern spin, as many other remakes have done. Despite the many other Peter Pan films, the original cartoon version remains the most successful.
David Lowery and Toby Halbrooks wrote the script for the project based on a novel written by J.M. Barrie. Additionally, Lowrey will serve as director for the project.
For the film, Ever Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) will star as Wendy with Alexander Molony (The Reluctant Landlord) as Peter Pan.
The film was originally supposed to begin shooting on March 13, but due to the coronavirus outbreak, the production was delayed. Peter Pan & Wendy is one of many films whose schedules are being thrown off due to Covid-19 and social distancing precautions. As cases begin to climb again in the United States, it is unknown when it will be safe for production to resume.
