Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, the musical comedy trio known collectively as The Lonely Island are set to make a feature film for Universal Pictures, with Judd Apatow (This is 40, Funny People, Knocked Up) set to produce. The Lonely Island first gained popularity when they created comedic music videos for Saturday Night Live, including “Lazy Sunday,” “Dick in a Box,” and the meme-inducing “Like a Boss.” The group has since produced three successful albums. Not much is known about the currently untitled film, but Taccone and Schaffer are both directing; presumably, SNL alumnus Samberg will act in the film. This will be the second film all three members have been involved in since 2007’s Hot Rod.
