Josh O’Connor’s ‘Bonus Track’ Comes To The US

Following the success of Challengers, Josh O’Connor returns to the big screen, but this time, mostly behind the camera. Julia Jackman directs the film Bonus Track (2003)  in her directorial debut, written by Mike Gilbert, with the story by O’Connor. The film, produced by Bankside Films, is set to release with Sunrise Films in the US this October.

Bonus Track follows “George, a 16-year-old who believes he is a future star musician, [who] can’t believe his luck when the son [Max] of a famous duo takes an interest in his music. This new arrival helps him rehearse for a talent show and leads both boys to learn from each other and grow closer,” according to Letterboxd

This queer rom-com stars Joe Anders and Samuel Small as George and Max respectively. The ensemble cast sees Ray Panthaki, Susan Wokoma, Jack Davenport, Alison Sudol, and a cameo role from O’Connor.

Bonus Track was released in the UK after its premiere during the BFI London Film Festival. Now, US audiences will have a chance to view this film in the upcoming months, in theatres and digitally, and experience this heartfelt, coming-of-age story backed by some popular names in the current world of cinema.
