Josh Brolin, who recently received critical praise for his role in Weapons, will return to the action genre in Mister.
The film follows an amnesiac who must fight off assassins from his past life to discover his own identity. His relationship with these killers ranges from best friends to exes. Brolin’s experience in Deadpool 2 and Dune, among other movies, makes him perfect for this action-comedy.
The film is also notable as Wade Eastwood’s directorial debut. Eastwood has previously worked as a second unit director and stunt coordinator.
“Having the opportunity to collaborate with Josh is everything I could have hoped for. His presence and gravitas define Mister and bring the film to life in every way.” Eastwood said. “What excites me most about this project is the depth of the characters and complexity of their relationships, which allows me to build action around story, without ever losing the intensity the genre demands.”
Producers for Mister include Nicki Cortese and Wayne Marc Godfrey for Bright White Light, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee for Thunder Road, and Brolin for Brolin Productions. The film’s executive producers are Chase Vergari, Ibrahim Mohammed, Eric Handler, and Will Flynn. Brolin is set to star in several other films, such as Edgar Wright’s The Running Man and Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, before Mister‘s release.
