Established film artist Jordan Peele is set to start shooting his new project with Universal later this year, Hollywood Reporter says. After all his award nominations this cycle, fans will be happy to know that he will be very involved in his new movie and its creation.
Peele cautiously revealed a precious few details, only saying that he will write and direct the film. The Get Out writer, producer, director, has been nominated for three Academy awards and his new project will not deviate from his original genre fascination—horror, action, and thriller. He also adds that “tonally [his next project should resemble Get Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one.”
In a recent interview for the Hollywood Masters Series with Loyola Marymount School of Film and Television, Peele recalled creating his breakout movie, Get Out, saying: “I planned the plot over the course of four or five years. I sat down and wrote the actual script in two months.”
Of his new project, he said, “I’m just trying to entertain myself again.”
