Discussing his fourth directorial work that remains untitled, Jordan Peele joined Conan O’Brien on his podcast Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend to tease audiences about the picture. Although the film was originally set to be released on Christmas Day of 2024, Universal Pictures’ removed it from its release calendar due to strike-related issues.
Reflecting on this situation, Peele described the film as “interesting” and one that left him “in a state of listening” during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. He also mentioned the following to O’Brien: “I do feel like my next project is clear to me…and I’m psyched that I have another film that could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”
Information on the plot and cast involved on Peele’s latest film are still being kept secret, as has been the case for the filmmaker previously.
In addition to Peele’s fourth directorial pursuit, another feature from Peele’s production company, Monkeypaw Productions, was also pulled from the release calendar by Universal Studios. This film is a horror thriller produced by Peele and that was originally set to be released on September 27, 2024, but has now been replaced by Lionsgate’s Saw XI. Peele’s fourth film has now been replaced by Focus Features’ Nosferatu on the calendar.
