Jordan Fisher, Drew Ray Tanner and Michelle Buteau Join the Cast of “Work It”

A flashy trio of dancers comes to Netflix as Jordan Fisher, Drew Ray Tanner and Michelle Buteau hit the dance floor for the original film Work It, which is slated to begin filming this week in eastern Canada according to Deadline.

Sabrina Carpenter helms an ensemble cast that includes Liza On Demand star Liza Koshy and Keiyan Lonsdale of The Flash and Love, Simon. Laura Terruso will serve as the film’s director. The film follows Carpenter as Quinn Ackerman, whose admission to her dream college hangs on her performance at a dance competition. In order to ace her performance, Quinn rallies a group of dancers to challenge the school’s greatest squad and, in doing so, learns how to dance.

The screenplay will be written by Alison Peck, with Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys producing Work It under her company A.K. Worldwide Productions. Alloy Entertainment and STXfilms will also contribute to the film’s production. Carpenter will serve as the film’s executive producer while Aakomon Jones will handle its choreography.

Netflix recently released a behind the scenes teaser to promote the film and provide a first look at the cast. Fisher has been previously seen in To All the Boys 2 and Rent: Live! Drew Ray Tanner maintains a role in the series Riverdale. Michelle Buteau is recognized for her work in Always Be My Maybe and First Wives Club.
