As of now, John Wick: Chapter 4 seeks to beat its franchise box office earnings at $115 million across the worldwide market. Broken down, this amounts to $65-70 million in North America and $45 million internationally.
Booked in 3,800 theatres, including 1,675 IMAX theatres, there is contagious energy for Keeanu Reeve’s final performance as the infamous Baba Yaga and for one of the late Lance Reddick’s last roles. This franchise has earned its respect thanks to it starting with relatively small at the box office ($43M domestic, $86M WW) and blossoming to a monetary leviathan thanks to popularity in home entertainment. With back-to-back premieres, including a surprise screening at SXSW last week, this energy spreads to make it the best-reviewed John Wick film with a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film is set to debut in 71 territories worldwide, including the UK, Germany, Australia, Spain, and Mexico. This is a big step up from the third film Parabellum’s 65 territories, which still earned top box office records at $93.75 million worldwide. However, unlike the previous frame, Chapter 4 will include Germany, Spain, and France in its first frame.
Stateside previews of John Wick’s final bow will start at 3 pm on Thursday, followed by an official release on Friday.
