Though not getting an Oscar nomination, hit horror film A Quiet Place is in the process of getting sequel arranged under Paramount, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
John Krasinski is set to direct this film again. Krasinski has already been writing the script for the second film. He recently posted a picture of a wooden floor and part of a door with the caption “…time to go back” with the date May 5, 2020. This is possibly referring to the release date of the film, given that they are set to film later this summer.
Paramount is talking to actress Emily Blunt and the younger actors featured in the first film, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. It is interesting that the studio is speaking to Simmonds and Jupe, which means that the studio anticipated needing them for a sequel while they were making the first film.
After making $340 million at the box office, well beyond their budget of $17 million, the second film will most likely have a larger budget.
The talks indicate that there is already a concrete plot that the movie will be centered around. Two of the plots that they were considering were continuing the story with the mother protecting her children or centering on a new part of the post-apocalyptic realm.
