John Krasinski Announces ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ Will be Delayed due to Coronavirus Concerns

With so many films being delayed in such short notice due to the coronavirus spread, it was uncertain if  John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Part II, which was set to release next week, would be affected by these concerns. Now it seems that Paramount is taking action, because A Quiet Place Part II has now been delayed with no new release date announced for the film. The announcement was made by director and star John Krasinski, who made the announcement on his Instagram page.

Krasinski’s post was geared to fans of the first Quiet Place, stating that he wanted the film to be seen by everyone. However, due to the current environment, Krasinski felt this would be an inappropriate time to release the film. He ends the statement by saying, “I’m gonna wait to release the film til we CAN all see it together! So here’s to our group movie date!” Therefore the film will not be premiering on its initial release date of March 20th 2020.

The downside is that, unlike the recent delays of Peter Rabbit 2 and No Time to Die, no new release date for Quiet Place 2 has been announced.  Depending on how the situation with Coronavirus goes, the film could be released in April in place of No Time to Die, or even a summer release. However, Paramount has yet to give a statement regarding the film’s new release date. Hopefully any further change of A Quiet Place Part II‘s release date and the Coronavirus will not escalate from where it’s at currently.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
