No formal announcements have come through including what film may open the prestigious film festival this year. Festival director Thierry Fremaux are, reportedly, still determining the make-up of what the 2016 film festival may look like however with Money Monster screening, there is at least one major Hollywood film set to take center stage- the film would mark the first time a film featuring Julia Roberts would screen at Cannes.

The previous film that Foster directed was the 2011 dramedy The Beaver, which she co-starred in opposite Mel Gibson (and a just-beginning-to-breakthrough Jennifer Lawrence); that film bowed at Cannes as well. Money Monster will arrive in theaters on May 13th. The 2016 Cannes Film Festival run this year from May 11th-22nd.

We will stay tuned to the future news revolving around Cannes.
