It was announced earlier this week that Jodie Foster will star in upcoming futuristic thriller Hotel Artemis. The plot is being kept under wraps, but it has been revealed that Foster will be playing a character called ‘The Nurse’.
Written and directed by Drew Pearce, this will be Pearce’s directorial debut. Pearce has previously written the scripts for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Iron Man 3, and was one of the writers for the upcoming Sherlock Holmes 3
The film will be a British-American production, with production companies The Ink Factory and Point of No Return teaming up for the feature.
The news of Jodie Foster signing on to act in Hotel Artemis is exciting given that she doesn’t do much on the acting side these days. A two time Oscar winning actress, Foster has been focusing on her directing career for the last decade, most recently directing Money Monster with Julia Roberts and George Clooney.
Ironically, Foster is currently writing her own untitled sci-fi thriller (so she perhaps has some anterior motives to signing on to Hotel Artemis). She will also be directing the drama Cockeyed, which was written by screenwriter Ryan Knighton about his own loss of sight, and is rumored to be directing the TV movie Charlie, written by Good Girls Revolt showrunner Darlene Hunt.
There is no release date set for Hotel Artemis. Stay tuned for updates.
