Jeremy Renner Discusses Friendship Between Him And ‘Avengers’ Castmates

Some of their parts in the films may be over, but Marvel star Jeremy Renner has taken the time to talk about how close all six headliners of The Avengers have stayed over the years. Renner talked about it while sitting down with Men’s Health.

Renner, of course, is responsible for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He formed the original Avengers group, as they assembled in 2012’s The Avengers, alongside Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk.

Renner told Men’s Health that the group became, and still is, a very tight-knit group. He went so far as to say that, “when you work with people—look, we all went through a culturally significant experience together.” He made it clear, as well, that the dynamic they share is very real, and not fabricated for appearances. He went as far as to say that he loves each of them, and would rather face undesirable situations with them than good experiences on his own.

“In the films, we look like we’re at a costume party, and there’s ridiculous props and we’re doing these ridiculous things, but it’s also beautiful because we’re all connected,” Renner stated, according to Deadline
