Jennifer Lopez Talks About Action Roles And Life With Partner Ben Affleck In New Interview

Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez Talked about her latest project during Thursday in The View. She shared that she feels pleased about being in an action thriller and that filming it “was a lot of fun” and “a lot of work.”

Lopez’s latest film is The Mother, which follows an assassin on the run played by the actress. Her character must stop hiding to protect a daughter she had to give up when she was younger. Niki Caro directs the film and has several action sequences. Lopez had to train regularly to learn how to fight. Regarding the action sequences, Lopez stated that they were choreographed – “We have to be efficient. I can’t be fighting eight hours a day. After like an hour, I’m like, OK. So they had to be real efficient, and they choreographed it almost like a dance, which is good for me since I’m a dancer.”

Lopez also reflected on her career. The actress is excited to be taking action roles now. However, she teased, saying she would have liked to get these types of roles earlier when she was younger. She also shared that action roles are “…kind of empowering, and it makes me feel strong and good. And it was great.”

Later during the interview, Lopez talked about her husband, Ben Affleck, and how she admires how a good father he is. The couple does not share children; however, the actress said:

“He is honestly the best dad I’ve ever seen. He’s so involved. He teaches me about how to kind of interact with the kids sometimes. He’s just so in tune. He’s such a brilliant guy anyway like he’s so learned in so many things, and you could just tell when he had his kids, he must have read every book and everything that you could possibly learn about children, and he applies it. He’s present, and that’s all you can ask for is a present, loving dad who cares and shows up every single day, and that’s who he is.”
