Jenna Ortega is a known actress who has appeared in an array of films and television from Scream to Wednesday. More recently she will be in the upcoming film from The Weeknd, Hurry Up Tomorrow. While doing press for the film Ortega revealed that she wanted to branch out and work behind the camera. 

She has expressed the desire to direct in the past but now she has mentioned a script she has been working on that she wants to bring to life. She expanded more on her desires, “I have a script that I’ve known that I was going to make for almost 10 years. It’s weird because it’s something that I thought of when I was younger and when I first started out in this field, and now it’s only now that I’m actually starting to take the steps to get it made, which is really interesting.” She has obtained a producing credit for the second season of Wednesday which she says has informed her about the procedures behind the scenes. 

She went on to explain she would like to also act in the project based on her script as well as direct. Ortega does not plan to be in every project she directs but is not writing off acting.
