Former Paramount executive Jeff Schultz, a vital figure behind the rise of Pluto TV, has recently been named CEO of the parent company of Shout! Studios and FilmRise. Radial Entertainment is responsible for a diverse film library, and the global entertainment company has produced films such as Olympus Has Fallen, Donnie Darko, and Rambo. Radial is a new company, as it was created earlier this year after Oaktree Capital acquired FilmRise and merged it with Shout! Studios.
Previously, Garson Foos led Shout!. He initially served as Radial’s CEO during the merger in which Oaktree Capital acquired FilmRise and combined it with Shout! Studios, which would ultimately form Radial Entertainment. Foos will transition to Executive Chairman alongside Danny Fisher.
Shultz’s past experiences only add to his qualifications, which include serving as Chief Business Officer at Pluto TV and as a pioneer in the FAST streaming market founded in 2014. After Pluto’s 2019 acquisition by Viacom, he quickly became Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Business Development Officer for Streaming at Paramount, overseeing global direct-to-consumer strategies including the launch of Paramount+. In October 2024, he left Paramount.
Schultz said, “I’m fortunate to inherit an exceptional team and the legacy of two highly successful brands.” He emphasized his support for Oaktree’s vision and, with Radial’s leadership, hopes to build Radial into “one of the most valuable independent players in the global streaming market.” He highlighted Radial’s “financial scale, vast and compelling catalog, and expansive distribution,” positioning the company for growth in the evolving media landscape.
