Jamie Lee Curtis has joined Borderlands, multiple outlets report. The film is based on the popular video game series, and will be directed by Eli Roth and written by Craig Mazin. Other stars already set to star are both Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart.
The talent assembled is shaping up to be a fun film with some big names. Curtis will be playing an archeologist named Tannis, while Blanchett and Hart are playing Lilith and Roland, respectively. All of these characters have appeared in the Borderlands video game series, but the adaptation is sure to be different.
Curtis has always brought fun to any role she’s in, whether that be the popular Laurie Strode in the Halloween films, True Lies, or even Freaky Friday. Most recently, her small stand-out role in Knives Out was incredibly fun with a dash of empathy. Curtis is sure to have a blast in this world as well.
There is still no set production date, but as the cast continues to be announced, speculation can be made on what exactly this movie will go for. Whether that be a film that takes itself a bit too seriously like some of the Fast & Furious or Kingsman films or something more light a la Guardians of the Galaxy.
