Edgar Wright‘s latest film Baby Driver looks to be rounding out its cast as Jamie Foxx has entered negotiations to co-star in the project, according to Deadline. If the deal goes through, he will be joining the previously signed Lily James (Cinderella) and star Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars). Working Title is producing the film which has also been written by Wright.
Baby Driver will center on a young getaway driver (Elgort) who finds himself forced by a crime boss into taking part in a doomed heist. He must step out of his groove to save his own life as well as that of his girlfriend (James). The film will likely follow a similar tone to much of Wright’s previous work like Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead to feature an unconventional and humorous action plot.
It is unknown which part Foxx is in talks to play, however, it would be a good guess to pin him down as a front-runner for the aforementioned crime boss. After taking this year off, Foxx will be on the other side of the criminal underworld in 2016 when he plays a cop in Sleepless Nights, and will take part in another upcoming heist thriller for Blink.
