The search for the new Superman is still underway! James Gunn made it official on his social media that he hasn’t decided who’ll play Superman in his Man of Steel film, Superman: Legacy. The new film will serve as a prequel and follow the early days of Superman.
Fans on the internet have speculated that Fury and Percy Jackson star Logan Lerman would be the new pick, but Gunn shot that down saying, “For the record, I don’t know who that is.”

In a series of tweets, Gunn continued, “Guys, this isn’t a dig at the actor. I don’t know lots of actors’ names. Now that you tell me who he is, I recognize him from stuff and think he’s talented. But I’ve never met him, and he’s never been part of a conversation about playing Superman…Haven’t had a single talk with a single actor about the role. Just making private lists, prepping material for auditions.”
Deadline reported Wednesday that Mike Flanagan pitched a stand-alone movie for DC’s Clayface to Gunn and Peter Safran. Nothing has yet been decided, and the film is still in early contracts.
James Gunn’s newest film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, will premiere on April 27.
