James Gunn Gives A Funny Response To Jason Momoa Almost Leaking His ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ Character’s First Look

James Gunn gives a joking response to Aquaman star Jason Momoa after he almost leaks the first look at his character, Labo, in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Milly Alcock is set to star as the famous Kara Zor-El, with her first appearance confirmed to be in DCU’s Superman, the first film of the universe’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

Fans are still left wondering as to what the Girl of Steel’s iconic costume will look like as well as how Momoa’s Lobo will differentiate from his original comic design. Last Thursday, a snippet of an interview was posted by Cinemablend via Threads. The clip contained Jason Momoa and Jack Black, promoting their new film Minecraft, when the interviewer asked about the design of Momoa’s new DCU character. Momoa began to describe some physical aspects of his character before reaching for his phone to show the interviewer a photo, presumably of him in costume. His publicist pleaded with him not to do it, and Momoa put his phone away with a laugh, saying to the interviewer the look was “worth the wait,” with his publicist even being heard agreeing.

DC Studios co-CEO and producer of the new Supergirl feature, James Gunn, reposted the snippet on his Threads account with the caption, “I just want to profoundly thank Jason’s publicist,” accompanied with laughing emoji. There is, most likely, an official plan for these first looks to be revealed, probably before they film publicly so as to not sabotage the plan in place. Gunn did tease at a recent DCU press event that Momoa’s first look as Lobo will not be for a while because principal photography is still ongoing. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to release in theaters on June 26, 2026.
