The anticipated next installment in James Cameron’s Avatar series is just around the corner. Ahead of the film, dubbed Avatar: Fire And Ash, Cameron himself has come out to comment on what fans can expect to see in the third film.
Avatar: Fire And Ash continues the story of Jake, Neytiri, and the rest of the Sully family, as they continue the battle to save Pandora from imminent danger. But when an adversary takes the form of an evil Na’vi tribe, they have to take up arms against their own kind.
Much like how the second film, The Way Of Water, introduced a new tribe of the Na’vi, Fire and Ash will also bring not one but two new groups into the mix.
As opposed to the ocean dwelling Metkayina Clan of Way Of Water, Fire And Ash introduces the Ash People, a clan that structures their livelihood around fire and destruction.
Similarly, ScreenRant notes that the second new group of Na’vi introduced will be known as the Wind Traders. The Wind Traders, as their name suggests, keep to the air on special creatures and stay mobile, as well
Recently, Empire was able to sit down with Cameron, and used the opportunity to ask Cameron just how the Wind Traders operate.
“Like all Na’vi, they live in a symbiosis with their creatures. If you’ve got any nautical blood in your veins, you’ll want to be on [their] ship,” he said.
Avatar: Fire And Ash hits theaters December 19th.
