Jack O’Connell, Lily Collins Join ‘The Cradle’

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that director Hope Dickson Leach has landed young stars Jack O’Connell and Lily Collins for her newest film, The Cradle. The Cradle is originally a 2009 novel by author Patrick Somerville, and it will now receive its own adapted movie. The film will follow O’Connell and Collins as a couple preparing for their first child, with O’Connell attempting to find the same type of cradle Collins had as a baby. Sommerville and Leach wrote the screenplay for the film.

O’Connell is known for his work in the British television show Skins, among such films as Unbroken and Money Monster, while Collins is known for her work in Stuck In LoveRules Don’t Apply, and To the Bone.

Protagonist Pictures will shop the script to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival next week. Gail Mutrux and Tore Schmidt will produce the movie. Production is set for summer 2018.
