J.J. Abrams Let Daisy Ridley Know How Extensive Her Star Wars Journey Would Be

Daisy Ridley recalled what J.J. Abrams told her before accepting the coveted lead role in 2015 The Force Awakens. The Star Wars franchise is beloved by many super fans who take the movies and shows seriously. 

 Abrams told her to “understand the scale” after accepting the offer. This comes after Disney acquired the George Lucas franchise. The pressure to succeed was high, and Abrams continued to say, “This is a religion for people. It changes things on a level that is inconceivable.” Ridley played Ray in four movies before her role ended.  

The movies made her a well-known celebrity and put her at the center of these super fans who were never satisfied. It causes her a lot of stress as that much pressure would make anyone. The stress was manifested physically when the actor got holes in her gut wall. Her body took such a  severe toll that before The Rise of Skywalker, she took a six-month acting break to recover. 

 Daisy Ridley’s experience took years to recover, according to the star. The pandemic that followed two years after the last film gave space for her to deal with all that she endured during her time leading the empire that is the Star Wars empire.
