‘Into the Wonderwoods’ Secures Deals Before World Premiere

Urban Sales closed many deals in 45 territories for the upcoming animated film Into The Wonderwoods just before its official premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Into The Wonderwoods is co-directed by Vincent Parnnaud, an Oscar nominee and Cannes Jury Prize winner, and Alexis Ducord. The $10 million feature is based on a comic book that Paronnaud wrote under the pseudonym Winshuluss. 

It follows Angelo, a 10-year-old who dreams of being an explorer and zoologist. While on a family road trip to visit his grandmother, he gets left behind at a rest stop. He then decides to cut through the woods to find his family but ends up in a dark woods with creatures he could have never dreamed of. 

According to Variety Reporting, Into The Wonderwoods will premiere at the French Film Fest in a special screening on May 22. The film will then travel to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival to compete for the Cristal Award. 

It will then be released in France on October 23. The film has sold to 45 other territories outside of France including the Baltics, Vietnam, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal. Ongoing negotiations are happening to get the feature to Benelux, China, Germany, Turkey, and Latin and North America.
