From their decades-long careers to the social commentary and struggles they’ve faced over time, the Indigo Girls will tell it all in their documentary It’s Only Life After All.
A recent trailer released for the documentary gave a deeper look into what the folk rock duo went through during the height of their popularity. One topic that will be covered was the expectations the duo faced as a girl band, and how that didn’t match who they were as people.
The film will be making its theater debut on April 10 for one night only, and will allow broader audiences to be able to experience the film. For those in Atlanta, Georgia, a special screening, along with a live performance from the girls themselves, will be held on March 29, according to Deadline.
Both Amy Ray and Emily Sailers, who make up the folk rock duo, both commented on the filming of the documentary, saying how it was a blessing being able to shine a light on the community that means so much to them and being able to show it to audiences.
The documentary originally made its debut during the Sundance Film Festival in 2023 and made an appearance at the Tribeca Festival as well.
For those that might miss the theaters in March, there will be a digital release of the film on May 7.
