The concern for the COVID-19 pandemic continues, as more precautions have been occurring and more people have been diagnosed with the disease. Concern had been voiced in particular for Tom Hanks, who ended up being one of the first major celebrities to test positive for the coronavirus. However, more recently Idris Elba, (Thor, Hobbes and Shaw) announced on his Twitter page that he had tested positive for Coronavirus.

Tis video of Elba and his wife Sabrina saw him broke the news of having the virus. He expressed that neither he nor his wife (who has not been tested yet) have felt any symptoms, but he tested for it due to potentially interacting with those who had the condition. While Idris and Sabrina are very concerned, both told viewers not to panic, as the former stated that he has socially isolated himself to ensure no one gets affected by the virus. The actor encouraged many to socially distant themselves from others and wash their hands in order to keep the virus from spreading. He added to this by saying, “Now is the time for solidarity, now is the time for thinking about each other”.
While this news is very upsetting, Elba mentioned he will be updating everyone on his situation as much as he can on social media. Still, Elba remains an incredibly talented and beloved actor for his roles in fan-favorite movies across the past decade like Pacific Rim, Zootopia, Thor: Ragnorak and Star Trek Beyond, just to name a few. He deserves all the support he can get and we are all hoping for the best for him and his family.
