Ice Cube Denies Katt Williams’ Allegations About a Deleted Rape Scene In ‘Friday After Next’

Content Warning: Discussion of Portrayed Sexual Assault

In an interview on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast Club Shay Shay, Katt Williams made some allegations about the 2002 Ice Cube film Friday After Next in which he claimed there was a deleted rape scene between Williams’ character Money Mike and Terry Crews’ character Damon.

Ice Cube has already responded to these remarks via an X video. “I would never shoot a rape scene in a movie, especially Friday, where you actually see this happening on camera. That ain’t my style”, the actor/rapper clarified. He added that the scene was “never a discussion” and that he “would never, ever show that.”

In response to Williams saying that he advocated for the scene to be cut, Ice Cube dismisses these claims. “At that point in everybody’s career, we will listen to a certain extent, but we wasn’t going to change the movie for it. For any actor, you know? We do what we feel, and if it was a rape scene, it would have been in the movie. There was no reason not to shoot it. But that’s not my style.”

In 2021, there were rumors that Chris Tucker, who appeared in the first Friday film, allegedly refused to reprise his role in Friday After Next due to money reasons. Ice Cube denied these claims, clarifying that Tucker didn’t reprise his role solely for religious reasons.

In the viral Club Shay Shay interview, Williams attacked other comedians such as Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, Rickey Smiley, and Ludacris. Hart fired back on social media, saying, “Gotta get that anger outta champ,” referring to Williams and calling him “sad.” In rap diss on X, Ludacris said, “You never have to flex when you earned every one of your Fast & Furious checks.”

Despite it all, Ice Cube ends the video with words of appreciation and love for all the comedians he’s ever worked with.
