A few weeks after the reveal of the much-anticipated first trailer to the Tonya Harding-centric film starring Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad) as the controversial ice-skater, the movie has released a new Redband trailer.
At this point, it’s obvious that Robbie has the ability to immerse herself in vastly different characters. In fact throughout the past few years, Robbie’s roles have showcased her wide range, and it looks like she has plenty more to offer. Right now though, it looks like she’s on a kick for historically-based films, such as a movie revolving around Mary Queen of Scots, where Robbie will play the character’s biggest rival, Queen Elizabeth I. She will also be teaming up with her About Time costar Domhnall Gleeson in an upcoming A.A. Milne biopic, Goodbye Christopher Robin, based on the man who created the iconic children’s book character Winnie the Pooh as well as a film about Peter Rabbit.
While Robbie is quite obviously the main female lead, she will be working with an equally-talented cast, including names like Allison Janney (The West Wing), Sebastian Stan (The Martian), and Caitlin Carver (Paper Towns), who will play Nancy Kerrigan, the victim at the center of the wild (and true) scheme hatched to ensure Harding’s success in the ice-skating world.
The Redband trailer can be viewed below!
I, Tonya will skate into theaters on December 8th of this year.
