Hotel Transylvania: Transformania will premiere on Amazon Prime this Friday. The film follows Johnny Loughran (Andy Samberg), who feels that Dracula (Brian Hull) has never considered him a member of his family because he’s not a monster. With Van Helsing’s (Jim Gaffigan) help, Johnny is transformed into a dragon by Helsing’s Monsterfication Ray, but the ray also works on turning Dracula and his monster companions into humans. And so, the duo must journey to the Amazon where the transformation can be reversed. Dracula and Johnny are in a race for time before the transformation is permanent.
This will be the last installment of the franchise. Selena Gomez, the actress who plays Drac’s daughter, Mavis, spoke with The Economic Times about her final performance in The Hotel Transylvania franchise: “I’m sad, of course. Obviously, it was so much fun and it was years of my life and it felt like home. It felt like a family. So it’s bittersweet.”
This will also be the first time that Adam Sandler won’t be starring as Dracula. Sandler hasn’t publicly announced why he decided to part ways with the successful franchise that has earned over $1 billion worldwide. Sandler lead the first three Hotel Transylvania movies, but Brian Hull is now stepping into the role of Dracula.
Subscribers of Amazon Prime can expect Hotel Transylvania: Transformania to premiere this Friday, January 14.
