Horror-Thriller ‘Push’ Lands U.S. Sales Deal With UTA Ahead Of Sitges Debut

UTA Independent Film Group has taken on U.S. sales representation for the upcoming horror-thriller Push. The film, starring Alicia Sanz and Raúl Castillo, is set to make its world premiere at the renowned Sitges Film Festival in October.

Push is directed, written and produced by David Charbonier and Justin Powell, the filmmaking duo behind other genre titles such as The Boy Behind the Door and The Djinn. The story centers on Natalie Flores (Sanz), a pregnant real estate agent who is brutally attacked by a sadistic killer (Castillo) during an open house, causing her to go into premature labor. The film explores Natalie’s desperate attempt to escape her attacker before she gives birth, adding a layer of psychological tension.

Sanz, known for her roles in Simulant and El Cid and Castillo, recognized for his performances in The Inspection and Army of the Dead, also serve as executive producers on the project. The film is produced by Ryan Scaringe, with Amy Lippens and Jilbert Daniel attached as executive producers.

Push is a collaboration between production companies Kinogo Pictures and Mad Descent. Charbonier and Powell are represented by UTA, Anonymous Content and Marios Rush. Sanz is represented by Range Media and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole, while Castillo is represented by CAA, JWS Entertainment and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.The Sitges Film Festival, which runs from October 3-13, is widely regarded as the leading festival for fantasy and horror films. This year’s event will open with Steven Soderbergh’s Presence and close with Alexandre Aja’s supernatural thriller Never Let Go, starring Halle Berry.
