According to a Deadline report, Sony has announced the leads for Escape Room 2, the sequel to the 2019 psychological thriller Escape Room. The sequel will star Teen Wolf actress Holland Roden and Pose and Queen & Slim star Indya Moore. Orphan star Isabelle Fuhrman, Thomas Cocquerel, and Carlito Olivero will bring in more new faces whereas Escape Room actors Taylor Russell and Logan Miller are set to reprise their original roles.
The first film is about a group of six young adults who barely know each other, stuck in an escape room who have to solve the clues to get out of the room or else they’ll die. The original cast members were Russell, Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Nik Dodani, Jay Ellis and Tyler Labine. Director Adam Robitel is returning to the sequel written by Bragi F. Schut, who wrote the first film. No further details about the plot of the sequel have been released, but it is sure to have audiences’ blood pressure racing if it’s anything like the fast-paced original.
Escape Room 2 is set to be released in the United States in August 2020.
