It has been confirmed that David Leitch and Jon and Erich Hoeber, writers of the blockbuster shark feature The Meg, are partnering up for the upcoming action thriller Fast and Loose.
STX will set up and finance the project, with Leitch producing it under his production label 87North, which he shares with Kelly McCormick. Annie Marter of 87North will also executive produce. The project is currently looking for a director to be attached.
Fast and Loose follows a man named John Riley who wakes up in Tijuana after being left for dead with no memory. As he follows a string of clues to uncover his identity, he discovers that he has been living two different lives. One of them was as a super-successful crime Kingpin: surrounded by beautiful women, expensive toys and a lavish lifestyle. The other life was as an undercover CIA agent, but with a puny salary, no family, home life and or any success whatsoever. The problem, however, is that he can’t remember which of these two personas is his true identity.
A stuntman turned director, Leitch most recent success is directing Hobbs & Shaw, which massed $759M at the global box office. Leitch also directed the $785.8M global hit Deadpool 2, the $100M-grossing Atomic Blonde, and co-directed and produced the original John Wick. His producing partner McCormick produced Atomic Blonde and was the executive producer on Deadpool 2 and Hobbs & Shaw.
