Sharon Stone, a recent recipient of the Golden Cariddi or the Lifetime Achievement award from the Taormina Film Festival of Italy shared some of her thoughts about the changes in the industry over her career and news of her personal life while at a panel at the festival. Some of the remarks made by the actress were shared by Deadline in both article form and on the publishers, X previously Twitter, page.
The conversation covered a variety of topics, ranging from Stone’s desire to move to Europe though it should be noted this wasn’t in connection to her remarks on American politics which she described as concerning to her as an American. Stone also shared the wonderful news of her first one-woman show for her painting collection to be displayed in Rome following the festival in November.
Out of Stone’s remarks at the panel what was considered one of the conversation’s best highlights was her opinion on the portrayal of sex in film shifting from “male fantasies” to better depictions of “the human condition” as Stone put it. Stone elaborated that she felt that she saw this shift with the rising of streaming in connection with a shift away from big-budget productions working in conjunction with a larger number of women working in film as writers and directors.
