What many are claiming to be one of the biggest box office flops of 2019 is the recent reboot of the iconic Dark Horse Character Hellboy. Whether the reason for it was just due to a poor reception from critics or more likely the fact that it was released only a few weeks before Avengers: Endgame, the reboot failed to connect with audiences. The film made only about $46.1 million worldwide on a budget of $50 Million.

The actor playing the title character, David Harbour recently made some comments about the film and a potential sequel. He claimed that the studio and director have not gotten back to him regarding the movie since its release. Despite the praise the producers gave him for his performance, the actor believe that by and large the film was not well received by audiences. The actor expanded upon this by stating, “There’s a lot of people who reach out to me who really loved it and really enjoyed the new take, and were just happy to see him back on the screen, but I know in the culture at large, I don’t think it was very well received.” Considering how much of a disaster Hellboy was as a financial loss and even some rumored behind the scenes issues before the film’s release, it’ll probably be a long time before Hellboy himself returns to the big screen.
