Hell of a Summer, the slasher comedy written and directed by Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk, has had its released dated moved ahead by two weeks. The film will now release on April 4th, 2025, instead of its original April 18th release date. The film stars Fred Hechinger as a camp counselor who must defend himself and his coworkers when a masked killer begins attacking the summer camp. On top of writing and directing the film, Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk also play supporting roles in the film alongside Abby Quinn, Matthew Finlan and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai.
On top of the new release date, the film’s distributor, Neon, has released a new poster for the film. The poster can be viewed below:
Hell of a Summer had its world premiere at the TIFF last year, where it received mixed reactions, with the film now standing at a 50% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But despite that mixed reaction, some critics did champion the film. Nate Critic, a film critic for Collider, called it a “bloody fun horror throwback”.
Sharing Hell of a Summer’s new release date is Warner Brothers and Legendary Picture’s A Minecraft Movie, the film based on the popular video game franchise and starring Jack Black and Jason Mamoa, as well as the anthology film Freaky Tales, which stars an ensemble cast featuring actors like Pedro Pascal and Ben Mendelsohn.
