‘Heart Eyes’ Horror-Romance Starring Olivia Holt And Mason Gooding Set For Valentine’s Season Release

Sony Pictures has set a February 7, 2025 release date for Heart Eyes, a horror-romantic comedy starring Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding. Directed by Josh Ruben, the Spyglass Media production blends slasher thrills with rom-com charm, adding to the studio’s lineup of genre-bending films.

Heart Eyes takes place in Seattle, where the notorious Heart Eyes Killer targets couples. Holt and Gooding portray coworkers who become unintended prey when the killer mistakes them for a romantic duo working overtime on Valentine’s Day. Forced to flee, the two must navigate the most romantic night of the year while on the run from a murderous stalker.

The cast also includes Gigi Zumbado, Devon Sawa and Jordana Brewster. The screenplay is written by Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon and Michael Kennedy, with Ruben taking the helm in what he describes as his “most challenging genre bender to date.”

The film’s producers include Landon, Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks of Divide/Conquer, while Spyglass Chairman Gary Barber, along with Chris Stone, Mel Turner, Phillip Murphy and Michael Kennedy, serve as executive producers.

Sony’s decision to release Heart Eyes just ahead of Valentine’s Day positions it as a unique option for moviegoers seeking a blend of romance and horror.

The film will face competition from Universal’s With Love, an action feature starring Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose, slated to open the same weekend.
