Head Full of Honey, or ‘Honig Im Kopf’ in German, was 2014 German drama film directed by Til Schweiger written by Schweiger and Hilly Martinek. It was one out of 8 films shortlisted for Germany’s entry into the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Today the trailer for the 2018 American remake, also directed by Schweiger, released and gives us a glimpse into the film. The film stars Nick Nolte as grandfather suffering from Alzheimer’s, Matt Dillon as his son, and Emily Mortimer as his daughter-in-law.

The film revolves around Nolte’s character whose wife recently deceased. His memory starts to become spotty and details about his family and his marriage begin to elude him. He visits the doctor at the wish of his son due to his declining health, and his granddaughter is tasked with spending time with him in order to make him feel needed. The two are shown traveling together to locations such as Venice, where the grandparents first met, and spending quality time with one another. We see their familial bonds strengthen as Nolte’s grandfather character begins to contemplate things such as the inevitability of his death.

The film looks to be a rollercoaster of emotions and is set to have a limited release in the United States on November 30th of this year. It is produced by Warner Bros. and Barefoot Pictures and will be distributed by Warner Bros.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
