Warner Bros. will be holding a worldwide theatrical re-release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as part of its 25th anniversary, Collider reports. Released on November 16, 2001, the Chris Columbus-directed adaptation of the first book in the fantasy series received positive critical reviews, earning an 80% Certified Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and earning nearly a billion dollars worldwide. Its success would lead to a hugely successful film series based on the books, grossing over $7 billion in total, and launching the careers of its leads, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

To commemorate the anniversary, Warner Bros. is hosting a worldwide celebration of the franchise, including re-releasing the film in theaters across the globe next year. Other parts of the celebration will include a newly designed 25th Anniversary logo, inspired by the illumination of the Patronus Charm, on new and existing product lines, retail activations, and fan-focused campaigns, special edition products and collections, and special events revolving around in-world references to the franchise such as Butterbeer Season in March through May, Harry Potter’s Birthday in July, Back to Hogwarts in August and September, and Christmas in the Wizarding World.

Fans of the franchise will also get to experience the story all over again in a new way, as a reboot of the series is currently in production and will be released on HBO Max in 2027.

A specific date for the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone re-release has yet to be confirmed as of this writing.
