Harrison Ford Joins The MCU To Replace The Late Willian Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross

Marvel is set to recruit Harrison Ford to replace Willian Hurt in the Marvel universe. After Hurt’s untimely death, Marvel jumped into the search to find someone to take the role of Thaddeus (“Thunderbolt”) Ross and got Harrison Ford to come on as the character. Many will miss Hurt’s presence in the Marvel Universe but are also excited to see what Ford will bring to the character. 

Harison Ford joining the Marvel community is major for Marvel and the popular actor can now add superhero to his resume. Ford is known for his iconic roles in “Star Wars,” “Indiana Jones,” “Blade Runner” and other major films throughout his career. 

It’s reported that his character will first appear in the upcoming Captain America: New World Order and then will follow a major role in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. Thunderbolts will mark the end of Phase 5 in Marvel’s roll-out plan. It’s safe to assume that the rest of the castmates will include Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, and more. Many also assumed that Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross will play a significant role in the film.

Thunderbolts will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously directed Robot & Frank, Paper Towns, which is scheduled to release in theaters on July 26, 2024.
