Han Solo Film Title Announced

While it’s certainly been an eventful creation process for the upcoming Han Solo anthology film, it looks like fans will at last have an answer for one of the many questions, namely the film’s title, Solo: A Star Wars Story. As the extensive production has concluded at last, director Ron Howard came up with a fun and humorous video to announce the title, featuring a guest appearance from one of the, biggest stars of the film: none other than the Wookie Chewbacca!

The well-received movie Rogue One kicked off growing series of anthology films in a galaxy far, far away. So far, a couple other standalone feature productions have been named: a Boba Fett-centered movie and an Obi-Wan Kenobi story. These will be in addition to December’s Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and the untitled Episode IX, giving fans plenty of new content for the next few years. With the completed animated Star Wars television series focusing on the Clone Wars and the currently running show Star Wars: Rebels, the franchise has provided an amazing of video content for viewers. Though it has the potential to eventually exhaust demand, it seems like audiences are pretty content overall with the projects they’ve watched so far.

Currently, the named cast members of the film include Emilia Clarke, Paul Bettany, Woody Harrelson, Joonas Suotamo, Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Warwick Davis, and Alden Ehrenreich. Talented actress Thandie Newton (Westworld) will also act in the film, though sadly we have yet to see any stills of her character. Hopefully when a trailer eventually comes out, fans will get more content from Newton’s role!

The wait for the movie is almost over! Solo: A Star Wars Story is on track for its original release date and will play in cinemas on May 25, 2018.
