Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy opened in the U.S. August 1st to a strong $94 million weekend – a record for August debuts. Now, the unconventional blockbuster about a motley group of space misfits has made over $200 million, close to another big-budget summer superhero flick, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which made about $202 million – and which Guardians will probably surpass at this rate. A Guardians sequel is slated for July 28, 2017.
