Greta Lee (Past Lives) and Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley: One Love) are in negotiations to star in the upcoming sci-fi horror film 11817 set to be directed and produced by Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me). 11817 follows a family of four as inexplicable forces trap them inside their house. As resources begin to run out, the family must learn how to be resourceful to survive and escape the entity keeping them trapped.
Lee and Ben-Adir are two of the buzziest actors right now with Ben-Adir’s last two movies, Bob Marley: One Love and Barbie, both breaking records at the box office. Lee is coming off her many successes, including The Morning Show, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Oscar-nominated Past Lives.
Written by Matthew Robinson, Rocket Science fully finances the film and handles foreign sales. CAA Media Finance will represent North American rights and will be introduced at Cannes this month.
Producers on the project include Leterrier, Thomas Benski, and Omar Sy through their new company Carrousel Studios, which will be the first film credited to the studio. Lars Sylvest for Thank You Studios, Kori Adelson for Chernin Entertainment, Oly Obst of 3 Arts Entertainment, Thorsten Schumacher for Rocket Science, and Joe Neurauter are credited producers. Cecile Gaget is an executive producer for Carrousel Studios.
Rocket Science’s Cannes slate includes Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice, the Cliffhanger reboot, and Sacrifice.
Lee is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, and attorney Jackoway Austen. Ben-Adir is repped by CAA, B-Side Management, and Range Media Partners.
