A month ago, Matilda Lutz was announced to star in Arachnid. Recently, Deadline revealed that more actors have signed on to star in the spider thriller. They are Greg Sulkin, William Miller, and Melina Matthews.
Sulkin starred in multiple Disney Channel productions—including Avalon High, Wizards of Waverly Place, along with the Wizards movie. However, he also had roles in Faking It, Pretty Smart, Marvel’s Runaways, Don’t Hang Up, and Anti-Social.
Miller has played a myriad of roles in Spanish, Mexican, American, British, and French projects. His latest film credits include Ian in Don’t Look at the Demon, Rodirogo in Ruta Madre (Going South), Constable in Megan Leavey, and Nomack in The Midnight Man.
Matthews is another who played in a variety of Spanish films and television. One of her first roles was playing the title character in the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror film, Mama. Later in her career, she starred in The Chess Player, Iron Reign, Black Beach, An Affair to Die For, The Returned, Silenco, and an upcoming feature called The Room Next Door. Additionally, she joined Miller in Warrior Nun and Megan Leavey.
Arachnid will be the debut film from the genre label, Badlands. Directed by Ángel Gómez (Don’t Listen) and written by Jayson Rothwell (Polar, Silent Night), the film follows a “man [that] returns from a trip unwittingly harboring a new breed of arachnid.” In addition, people in an apartment are trapped and “fend for themselves against a plague of venomous spiders.”
