Havoc is revealed in the poster for Gareth Edwards (known for Monsters) reboot of Godzilla, as it introduces an enormous manifestation. With a view of a pointy claws, sharp scales, halo jumpers, and explosions erupting, the portrayal of destruction is bound to raise the bar for the remake of this classic creature feature.
This new rendition of Godzilla terrorizing San Francisco is both chilling and mysterious. Although closer to a full revelation of the beastly lizard, we are only given permission to view its monstrously large size from the back. As previously mentioned here, this Godzilla will be the largest one envisioned to date.
If the enormity of this depiction isn’t enough to get movie-goers trembling, the collection of all-star cast members is sure to get their attention. The astonishing array of cast members set to combat Godzilla includes Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Davis Strathairn (Lincoln), Ken Watanabe (Inception), Juliette Binoche (The English Patient) and Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky).
The Godzilla franchise began in 1954 in Japan, before traveling to American theaters. In 1956, America’s first version of the powerful destroyer came in the form of Ishiro Honda and Terro O. Morse’s Godzilla, King of the Monsters!
Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures are releasing this likely new blockbuster of the beloved beast, sure to please crowds young and old (hopefully more than Godzilla’s last attempt). The 1998 iteration was directed by Roland Emmerich and only received a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the very least, the scale of destruction has certainly been magnified with the release of a menacing Godzilla poster. If you can find the courage to witness it on screen, the action adventure and sci-fi will be released May 16th in the U.S.
