‘Ghosts Of Hiroshima’ Film Gets Production Update Directly From James Cameron

James Cameron’s latest film, Avatar: Fire And Ash is mere weeks away from hitting the big screen. Although he’s got several other projects lined up, one in particular got a recent update directly from Cameron on its status.

Among his upcoming endeavors was a historical piece chronicling the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War II. Based on the book Ghosts Of Hiroshima, written by Charles Pellegrino, the narrative zooms in specifically on the civilian perspective of the bombings, and the hardships they had to endure because of the atomic bombs.

Although Cameron was open about the project earlier this year, Collider notes that a new revelation from Cameron indicates the film is farther off than ever anticipated. He explained that the announcement came when it did to help the success of the book, with him being close with Pellegrino, but also stated it’s one of a multitude of upcoming projects he’s working on.

“Doesn’t mean I’m not going to make the film, but I’ve written the script, and it’s not slated right now, and I don’t even have a distribution partner on it,” Cameron told Matt Belloni on The Town.
