Behind the scenes footage has surfaced from the upcoming James Bond film Spectre. The clip, centered on one of the film’s sure-to-be-legendary action sequences, is set in the bucolic mountains of Austria, but everyone knows that when Bond is involved, things don’t stay bucolic for long.
In the clip, Daniel Craig’s 007 is seen doing what 007 does best, whether brandishing a pistol or speeding precariously on a perilous mountain road. This is Craig’s fourth go-round as the suave secret agent. We also meet the latest Bond Girl, Madeleine Swann, played by French actress Léa Seydoux (Midnight in Paris). The high-tempo setpiece is meant to pay homage to Bond action setups of the past, and to push the envelope forward in the wake of the mega-success of 2012’s Skyfall.
Production designer Dennis Gassner worked with director Sam Mendes to “continue the history of the Bond films, making things that are exciting for the audience to look at.”
Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Monica Bellucci (The Passion of the Christ), Ben Whishaw (returning from Skyfall), and Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel) are also on board for the action for this, the 24th film in the Bond canon. Spectre is slated for a November 6th release. Check out the footage below.
