George Miller Rumored to Direct ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel

As the DC Extended Universe begins to take form with confirmed movies and the soon to be relased Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on the horizon, it isn’t a surprise that the George-Miller-to-direct-the-Man-of-Steel-sequel rumor got a big push yesterday.

Jon Schnepp, director of the new documentary The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened?, went on Popcorn Talk’s ‘DC Movie News’ and declared Miller was set to direct Man of Steel 2.

Nothing is confirmed and at this point, this is all speculation, but given Schnepp’s strong reputation as a director and journalist, this bold prediction may prove correct.

Given how strong Max Mad: Fury Road performed – grossing over $370 million worldwide – and the universal praise it drew from critics and audience, it’s no wonder Miller has been a highly sought after to director for new material.

There have been links between Miller and the DCEU in the past. Originally, Miller was set to direct the now cancelled Justice League Mortal film. He was also recently seen on the set of Suicide Squad, which raised questions about his involvement with future DC movies.

Man of Steel 2 has been confirmed by Warner Bros. but no official release date has been set.
