Reaction to the recent reveal of CGI Venom from Sony’s upcoming Venom has been mixed, to say the least. Some appreciate the horrific artistic direction taken, while others think it looks like he’s choking on a massive sausage (yes, sausage, in case there are kids reading). Seeking to bridge the gap between both camps, one fan decided to take matters into his own hands and create an image that will forever, hilariously sear itself into your retinas.

‘But what if Venom had eyes’ indeed, Mr. Gaydos. I mean, now I’d almost rather watch this version of Venom, to be perfectly honest. Forget about the debates over Venom not having a Spider symbol on his chest; does this googly-eyed fellow really look like he gives a crap about minute details like that? No, he just wants to give you friendly hugs with his tendrils, help chew up your food with his many fangs, and forge bladed weapons so you can effortlessly Ginsu some healthy veggies.
These fan-made images clearly poke fun at the grim, violent world of this R-rated take on Venom, and it’s going to be a tricky balancing act for Sony to interject some much-needed humor into a dark film where the main character eats people. I doubt we’ll see googly eyes, but hopefully there will be some comic relief besides Tom Hardy‘s marble-mouthed line delivery and corny dialogue that thuds “like turd in the wind.”
